Officially In Limbo
We are so relieved! Yesterday we closed on our house, and we are officially in limbo. Vic is jokingly saying we are homeless, and I am telling everyone we are on vacation. Neither really feels right because we are, in fact, in limbo.

We moved out of our house to a local hotel for the next 11 nights as we wait for Henry and Milo’s official Pet Health Certificates to be certified by the USDA and the Panamanian Consulate (that is a whole blog to come later about transporting pets outside the United States). We have been so busy preparing, and now we get to rest a bit between getting a few more things done.
We sold my car after closing the house yesterday to our favorite dealership. We are officially a one-car family for the next 11 days. We have also set an appointment to bring in Vic’s car to sell the day before we leave and scheduled a rental car to get us to the airport in Orlando. Yes, in Orlando! (This will also be in the blog about getting our fur babies out of the United States)
There are a few more things to give to the kids we were using while still in the house, but those will be given away over the coming week.
It’s nice to have time to repack what will go in checked luggage and carry-on. Honestly, each day as I look at my bag, I think… Do I really need this? Am I ever going to wear that? … and something else gets donated.
Most importantly, we will enjoy final lunches and dinners with friends and family this week. Today it’s nice to be at a hotel with a pool to cool off these hot summer days.

Thanks, Cindy! Getting our animals into the country has been the biggest challenge so far. Hopefully, the USDA and the Panamanian Consulate will get us the documents within our 10-day timeframe.
