Haiku #2: Life Is Better Floppin’ In the Sand

My favorite shoe is the flip-flop. It is the most comfortable, arch-supportless footwear and a podiatrist’s best friend. This toe thong splits the big toe and the second toe with a Y-shaped strap that allows the foot to slap against the sandal. Our politicians in the U.S. do a lot of flip-flopping. Doctors flip-flop on the flip-flop and aren’t quite certain of its health benefits. Nutritionists flip-flop on the quality of our food. Christian zealots flip-flop on the doctrines of their faith. Let’s all expose our toes to the sands of the beach and celebrate this fabulous invention that leaves us uncertain about life. All I know is that I love my flip-flops… and my wife.
